Obsession, Integrated
A modern Boston-area home where passion has taken center stage. The garage and the cars live as naturally inside the home as out.

We pride ourselves here at Garage Recess on celebrating the balance of form and function. We don’t mind grease on the ground or underneath our fingernails, dents on a workbench or a rear fender, in fact, we appreciate it. But we also firmly admire when design rises to its highest level, especially when predicated on passion. Few spaces embody this interweaving better than this modern build outside of Boston, MA.
Anchored by a 29-foot glass-and-steel hydraulic door from Schweiss, the garage was conceived not as an afterthought but as the core of the home itself. Radiant-heated terrazzo floors, a luminous Cooledge ceiling, and a full humidity-controlled filtration system create a space where machines are preserved and enjoyed year-round. Every detail was designed deliberately with function in mind, right down to the floor drain with its own oil-water separator.
Supported by his family and balanced by a career in biotech, Eddie is a lifelong gearhead. His vision was to create a space where his passion for cars could live at the center of everyday life. Nearly every room on the lower level offers a view into the garage, with the home office set at center stage. The family hosts baby showers, birthday parties, and cocktail evenings here; the garage is as much a gathering place as it is a sanctuary. “It represents a place to showcase my automotive passion and a multiuse space to share with others,” he says. His favorite detail? The dramatic garage door that turns the collection into a stage.
For Eddie, it’s simple - “You can’t build it if you don’t dream it first.”
